Proscar action mechanism:

Proscar is a preparation for the treatment of benign prostate hyperplasia. Proscar contains the active ingredient finasteride that is competitive and specific inhibitor of 5-alpha-reductase 2nd type intracellular enzyme that converts testosterone into its more active form DHT (dehydrotestosterone). Decreasing DHT levels in the blood and tissue is accompanied by reducing the size of prostate gland, improving urine outflow and relieving the symptoms of prostate enlargement (benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)

The medication must not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to any of the medication ingredients
• Severe liver diseases (hepatic failure)
• Severe kidney diseases (renal failure)
• Prostate gland cancer
• Women and children

The medication should be used with caution if any of the following conditions apply to you:

• Obstruction of urinary passages

Proscar side effect: Like any medication Proscar may cause certain specific side effects. If a side effect is stated below it will not necessarily occur during the drug's application.
