Xenical action mechanism:

Generic Xenical contains the active ingredient Orlistat that is specific inhibitor of gastro-intestinal lipases. Lipase is a water-soluble ferment that catalyzes the hydrolysis of ester

chemical bonds in water-insoluble lipid substrates. Orlistat exerts therapeutic action in the stomach and small intestine forming covalent bond with serine parts of stomach and intestinal lipase. Inactivated enzyme looses its ability to break down fats coming with food in the form of triglycerides. Unbroken fats are not absorbed into the blood and as a result the organism get less calories. The medication begins its action in 24-48 hours after oral administration.

Xenical clinical indications:

Generic Xenical is indicated for prolonged treatment of patients with obesity and excessive body weight.

Xenical is used in patients with hypoglycemic drugs (insulin, metformin) and moderate diet in patients with diabetes type 2 with excessive body weight and obesity.

Xenical caution, precaution and warnings!

The medication must not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to any of the medication
• Malabsorption syndrome
• Pregnancy
• Breastfeeding
• Younger age

The medication should be used with caution if any of the following conditions apply to you:

• Diseases of the digestive system
• Liver or kidney diseases in anamnesis
• Deficiency of vitamins A,D,E,K
